I’ve talked about water a lot in the past. There’s a common rule of thumb that you should drink at least 64 ounces (8 glasses of 8 ounces) of water a day. Making sure I drink the recommend amount of water each day is something I still work on, but I’ve been doing this long enough to have noticed a couple of things. First – it feels better to be hydrated (seriously – if you’re used to drinking just a little bit of water, go and get yourself a cool glass of water right now and notice the difference.) Second, there’s a definite relation to how healthy my skin is to how well I’ve been hydrating.

A Simple Beauty Trick - Drink Water

Water is a critical part of removing toxins in our body. When we don’t drink enough water to cleans ourselves of toxins, those toxins can build up – impacting your skin, metabolism, joints, and more. And let’s not forget that if you’re dehydrated, your skin is dry, which makes it more prone to wrinkling.

On the flip side, drinking enough water helps ensure everything is working smoothly. Drinking water can relieve pain from dehydrated muscles, helps the kidneys do their jobs and can even help you lose weight (hel-lo zero calorie beverage!) When I started drinking more water, I noticed an almost immediate improvement in skin health and complexion.

My favorite thing about drinking enough water as a beauty and healthy living tip is – it’s free and you can get it almost anywhere. The next time you’re out to dinner, ask for one more glass of water. Start your mornings with a nice glass of water, which will also help remove the toxins built up over night. Let’s not forget, that drinking water isn’t just for adults. The simple habit of drinking enough water each day can benefit your entire family.

    Canon Rebel Giveaway
Gil and I have been sweeping up leaves. “Don’t you mean raking?” you may ask? And I’ll say “No – sweeping.” There’s this amazing wagon-puller-sweeper-thingie (I think it’s officially called a lawn sweeper?) that you can drag around and it uses a giant brushed roller that “sweeps” up leaves and pine needles as it rolls… Continue reading →
