  • Teaching a ChildSchool is in session and every day parents across the  country send their kids off to school to have their minds filled with knowledge. Whether it’s a public, private, or home school, educating our youth seems to be getting harder and harder as more and more potential distractions pop up. There was no text messaging when I was in school. Our schools and our teachers are working hard to give our kids the tools they need to succeed. Due to all of their hard work, we are honoring them as part of Dollar General’s Every Day Heroes campaign.

Beyond just our moral support, you can help your local school have a chance to win $10,000!

Dollar General is offering the opportunity to win money for your school through its “Write to Win” sweepstakes. Customers ages 21 and over may visit www.dollargeneral.com to submit a brief essay about why their school deserves to win. Three essays will be selected and the winning schools mentioned in those essays will win $10,000 each.

This is a great opportunity to help support our oft-budget-tight schools, so please take a moment and nominate your favorite school and celebrate these Every Day Heroes.
