It’s happened to me quite a few times. I’m out running errands and I get thirsty. I grab for my water bottle, only it’s empty. Shoot. A quick glance around and all I see is that “innocent” looking drinking fountain. You know – the one that is outside 365/years and gets cleaned only when it rains. Not my ideal choice for drinking water at all. Fortunately, if you have an Aqua Vessel Ultra Lite water bottle from Eco Vessel, you can fill up your water bottle from that very same drinking fountain and be able to drink filtered water.
About the Aqua Vessel™ Ultra Lite
The “Ultra Lite” is part of our Tritan™ line of great looking, durable bottles that feature the same high performance, two stage filtration system as in our original stainless steel Aqua Vessel. A very effective filter bottle for those who want a light weight option while camping, traveling, on the trails or whenever you want clean, safe, good tasting water. The Review
I am a HUGE fan of reusable water bottles. Not only are they a convenient way to drink water while you’re out and about, but using reusable water bottles reduces environmental waste that we might otherwise create by using single-use plastic water bottles. One of the tricky things for me, though, has been that once I drink my water – that’s it. I’ll admit, I’m a little bit of a filtered water snob. I’ve heard enough stories about old, rusty, and leaking pipes for me to want my water to be run through a filter before drinking. I love that the new Aqua Vessel Ultra Lite water bottle from Eco Vessel allows me to drink filtered water – wherever I am.
The Aqua Vessel Ultra Lite is a straw based water bottle with a convenient flip-top to prevent any spills or leaks. With other water bottles you have to tilt your head back and “pour” the water into your mouth. With this water bottle, you keep the bottle upright and just drink it as you would any other drink using a straw. As you drink, the water gets pulled up through the two-stage filtration system. The filter removes 99.9% of parasites and reduces the toxic chemicals, heavy metals, and microscopic pathogens that can be present in water. Each filter can filter more than 100 gallons of water, which is about 700 refills for the bottle, which has a 25 oz. capacity.
I found this water bottle to be incredibly convenient simply because it eliminated any waiting time that can come with filtered water pitchers. Thirsty? Just turn on the tap, fill up the bottle, and drink. I thought the water definitely tasted clean and (to me) had a sweet taste, although others thought it simply tasted like good, clean water.
Note that when you first use the filter, since it is carbon-based to remove the icky stuff, there may be some carbon dust in the initial sips of water, which you can just spit out. I only noticed that on the first use and not on any other uses.
If you just need a standard water bottle (without the filter,) you can simply replace the filter and attached straw with the included rigid straw.
The Aqua Vessel Ultra Lite water bottle is BPA free (yay) and is dishwasher safe. You can purchase the Aqua Vessel Ulta Lite at the Eco Vessel online store for $24.95 or from Amazon for $21.95. It is available in three colors, Boulder Blue, Khaki, and Violet. In addition, this holiday season, Eco Vessel is donating 10% of sales from ecovessel.com to waterforpeople.org, in support of providing clean drinking water to those in need around the world.
