Have you ever wanted just a little bit of peace and quiet, except someone else wanted to listen to music? Whether it’s trying to read at home or riding the metro, there can be times when I just don’t want to hear what other people are listening to. At times like those either they (or I) need a good pair of headphones so they can listen to their music, or I can listen to my music, in peace. Those are the times people need a pair of Coby Xtreme Headphones.
About Coby Xtreme Headphones
In this household, we use our iPods for more than just easy listening – we use it while working out, while working in the office, or while riding the metro. That’s why the Coby Xtreme headphones are such a great fit for what we need. Not only does it come with an amzing set of headphones, but it also comes with plug-in mini speakers that turn your iPod or mp3 player into a mini-boombox.
Let’s first take at look at the headphones. These headphones come in five different colors – blue, red, silver, graphite and pink, meaning you can buy a pair for your son, daughter, or spouse and be able to tell them all apart (and offer the opportunity for a little style. The color is apparent on the outside of the earpieces. We receive the blue color and it was a vibrant royal blue with the Coby logo in the center. The ear pieces are nicely padded and fit securely to your ears (they have a hinge that allows them to bend as needed for a proper fit. There’s also a bit of padding at the top where the headphones rest against your head. You can adjust the size of the headphones and they both fit my woman-sized head and my friend’s man-sized head simply by pulling the sides longer. For storage, the headphones conveniently fold up to reduce the needed storage space by about half.
But when it comes to headphones, it’s all about the sound. The Coby Xtreme headphones boast “Deep Bass” and they definitely provide that. I could clearly hear the boost in bass when switching between a standard speaker and these headphones. The boost is automatic – you don’t need to fiddle with any settings for it to occur. The music came through clearly and sounded great.
I also really liked that the cable was extra long. If you like keeping your mp3 player in a bag or backpack, there’s enough cord length to allow you to keep it in your bag and still move around without having anything unplug or get tugged off your head.
The mini mp3 speakers are a nice little touch. They are powered by a single AA battery and they can give you a nice way to play your music out loud if there isn’t an outlet around. The speakers plug-in to the standard headphone jack and act as a basic amplifier for your music. For playing music without any wires or plugs, this is a simple and convenient option.
The new Coby Xtreme headphones are available in stores now and can be purchased on Amazon for just $12.99.
