  • PillowsFinding just the right pillow has been touch. I’ve tried various foam pillows, down pillows, and synthetic pillows of various shapes, sizes and firmness. Just like that finding that pair of perfect fitting jeans, finding the perfect pillow can take a bit of trial and error. I may just have found it with the PolarPillow Cooling gel pillow.

    PolarPillow – the Cooling Pillow

The PolarPillow is an innovative new type of cooling pillow that will help cool your head and helps you sleep. The PolarPillow uses a special cooling gel that absorbs the heat and transfers coolness to your head as you sleep.  Other than helping you be more comfortable, having a cooler head can help slow down brain activity while you’re trying to sleep and help your brain to rest for the next day.

I noticed the coolness from the PolarPillow as soon as my head hit the pillow. You know that cool and relaxing feeling you get when you put on BenGay or Icy Hot? That’s exactly how it feels when you’re using the PolarPillow, only without the menthol smell. The longer you’re resting on the PolarPillow, the cooler it feels. According to thermal imaging tests, skin temperature drops by 10°F after just 15 minutes on the PolarPillow. The coolness is supposed to last for at least 2 hours, but I always fell asleep much quicker than that so I wasn’t able to “test” that aspect of the pillow.

The PolarPillow is a little smaller than a standard pillow to allow for the cooling effect to be concentrated. I found that the pillow seemed to mold to the shape of my head, coming up and providing support on both sides which was very comforting. Also, since the pillow was more comfortable, I didn’t toss and turn as much as usual, so I didn’t notice the size difference. One thing you will notice is the weight difference. The liquid gel that helps keep the pillow cool is a lot heavier than a pillow full of feathers. Once you’re sleeping on it, though, weight doesn’t really matter.

Above all, the PolarPillow is definitely a cooling pillow and it is definitely a comfortable pillow. If you’ve been having trouble falling asleep, or have tried too many pillows to count while you find the perfect pillow, or if you just get a little warm when you sleep, consider trying the cooling and beneficial PolarPillow. You can buy the PolarPillow online for $99.
