  • One of the biggest struggles I have while shopping is finding clothing that is both feminine and modest. There are stores that offer pretty, but you’re pretty much flaunting. And there are others that are modestly making you look like you’re wearing a potato sack in a shade of purple. Amazingly, DownEast Basics has been able to find that sweet spot that allows women to look like women without baring all.

    The Review

DownEast Basics CatalogDownEast Basics recently launched their latest line, and true to form, it is filled with beautiful and unique fashions for women. From delicate T’s to flowing dresses, all of the clothing items have tons of personality and style. Until I discovered DownEast Basics, it was practically impossible to find knee length skirts. Virtually every DownEast Basics skirt and dress hits at or just above the knee. Nary a mini-skirt in sight (thank goodness!)

As you’re browsing, definitely check out the current catalog so you can see how the items fit on “real women.” I use the catalog to show me how low hemlines are. In fact, the DownEast Basics catalog is one of the few catalogs I get in the mail where I actually flip through every page.

I had the opportunity to wear the Pretty Parisian Dress from the May product line. It is just as lovely in person as it was in the catalog. I absolutely loved the delicate texture of the fabric (a rayon spandex blend) that was soft to touch and to wear but wasn’t too thin. The dress fit to my shape without being overly clingy or too baggy and has pretty accent features, such as the cowl neck and flutters sleeves, adding to the dress’s femininity. It really is a perfect spring and summer dress that can be worn to multiple occasions. You can top it with a cute sweater or even swap out the belt to give the dress a different look each wear.

    DownEast Basics Pretty Parisian Dress

Not only does DownEast Basics hit the mark when it comes to fashion and styles that real women and moms want to wear (and can actually wash without incurring a dry cleaning bill,) but all of their items are surprisingly affordable. The Pretty Parisian Dress is just $36.99 and there are currently T’s and camis for as low as $9.99 and dresses for just $14.99! Now is a great time to stock up on some of the basics – their T’s and Camis are on sale for 20% off with code TEES.

For stylish, modest, feminine, practical, wearable, and affordable clothing (wow…could I squeeze any more adjectives in there?) I STRONGLY suggest you check out DownEast Basics. They offer skirts, tops, dresses, jeans, swim and even home items that are sure to make you look good.
