In the movies, you will often see people sitting at the kitchen table, slowly enjoying a cup of coffee. I love the concept of doing slowing down to savor the morning (although most mornings may be considered a juggling act between packing lunches and making breakfast.) Gevalia Kaffe is the perfect coffee to help you sip, savor, and enjoy your mornings.
About Gevalia Kaffe
This morning, we decided to try the new Gevalia Kaffe House blend to help get the house going. I opened the first bag and immediately was hit with the wonderful scent of coffee. The aroma of the coffee is wonderful. It smells fresh, rich, and hints at the flavor that is to come once brewed. I brewed up a cup of coffee using my Keurig (Gevalia doesn’t come in the K-Cups yet, but you can get an awesome filter that allows you to brew ground coffee with your machine.)
The house blend is definitely a bold and dark roast as I immediately noticed once it was brewed. I gave the coffee to our tester, who took a few sips before saying, “If Gevalia was alcohol, it would be considered ‘top shelf.'” When I asked why, he said “Because you get the bold and rich flavor of coffee without any of the bite.” Interestingly, the lack of bite is something that Gevalia is known for. On the package, they say “Gevalia delivers a smooth, rich never bitter taste cup after cup.”
No wonder Gevalia is the official coffee of the Swedish Royal Court. This coffee is something that offers a new type of experience for coffee lovers – one where you can sip and savor instead of gulp. There are 10 varieties of Gevalia available in the U.S., including variations of roast, ground, whole bean, flavored, and decaff. We’ve only tried the House Blend so far. Simply stated, “It’s a GOOD House Blend.” If that’s what the house blend taste likes, I can’t wait to try the other varieties (Chocolate Mocha, here I come!)
Gevalia used to be available only online, but they introduced their top-ten coffee varieties to your local supermarket. I was excited to see that this gourmet coffee is now available in my neighborhood Safeway. I’ve been seeing it on the end-caps of the coffee aisle – rows of bright yellow bags of coffee that pop out as you approach.
For a bold and rich coffee flavor without the bitterness or bite, definitely check out Gevalia Kaffe.
