I love having a clean house. There’s nothing quite like surveying my domain and appreciating the nice openness that comes with having everything sorted and put in its proper place. One of the things that I’m not so fond of, however, is the strong chemical smell that oftentimes comes with cleaning. I like my place to smell like a home, and the potent smell of chemical cleaners does not a homey smell make.
Mr. Clean has recently launched several new products into their Febreze Family of Products – a line of cleaning products that uses Febreze fresh scents to make cleaning a more pleasant task for the olfactory system.

Mr. Clean with Febreze Antibacterial Citrus & Light Cleaner
I’ve been using the antibacterial cleaner as an all-purpose cleaner around the kitchen. Available in a spray or a pourable bottle, the Mr. Clean with Febreze Antibacterial Citrus & Light Cleaner kills 99.9% of bacteria (including Salmonella enterica and Escherichia cola aka Salmonella and E. Coli) and can be used to clean hard surfaces throughout the home, including the kitchen, windows and table tops, and in the bathroom. I used it to clean some sticky grease spots off the edge of my stove and was impressed with how effective and easy it was – a couple sprays and wipe and the grease was gone. It was also very convenient to use when I was wiping down my glass-top dining room table, as in there were no streaks, and was great as a counter top cleaner. Just remember that you need to rinse any surfaces that have contact with food after using this cleaner.

It was harder for me to detect the citrus and light scent when I first sprayed the cleaner. What I did notice was that as the cleaner dried, the chemical smell gradually faded into the more pleasant lemon scent. It does leave the kitchen smelling clean without being overpowering.
Mr. Clean with Febreze Disinfecting Bath Cleaner
The new Disinfecting Bath cleaners come in two new scents: Meadows & Rain and Lavender Vanilla & Comfort. I used the Lavender Vanilla & Comfort Bath Cleaner to clean my bathroom counters, including the water marks around the faucets and the toilet. The spray comes out as a liquidy foam (as in, it’s not 100% bubbles, but some foam, some liquid) that has a floral fragrance to it. As you start to wipe everything down – that’s when your nose starts to sniff out the deep vanilla fragrance. One thing I noticed and appreciated was that as I wiped down the counters, this spray did not leave that filmy, streaky residue that some other bathroom cleaners leave. The surface just looks nice and clean.
Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Bathroom Scrubber
I’ve been a fan of the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers ever since they first came out on the market several years ago. The wonders and powers of the original eraser are customized into a special eraser for the bathroom that is 30% larger and more durable to make it perfect for cleaning tubs, sinks, showers, and most every other part of your bathroom. The Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Bathroom Scrubber also has a contoured shape to help hold the eraser while you’re scrubbing, a new bumpy surface to make it more effective at cleaning out the deep down dirt, and angled edges for cleaning hard to reach corners.
I tried the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Bath Scrubber in the Febreze Meadows & Rain fresh scent. Don’t laught at me when I say this, but I thought that this smelled very, very similar to Elizabeth Arden’s Sunflower perfume. I know, crazy right? Another reason I love this eraser is that it is just so easy to use. I may be showing how lazy I am, but after showering, I just wipe down all the surfaces with the eraser (since they’re already wet) then twist the shower head around for an extra rinse, and voila! clean shower.
Want evidence of how well the two new Mr. Clean Bathroom products work? I let my shower get nice and grimey (for the purpose of testing, of course, *cough*) and here are the results of the two products on my dirty shower door. You can see how effective they are against water spots, and it honestly didn’t take much scrubbing. I did a few wipes with the eraser and then just a couple sprays of the disinfecting cleaner wiped off with a paper towel to get these results.

One of the things I’ve really been more aware of recently are cleaners that disinfect. There is a certain amount of time that passes between cleanings, where you’re washing hands, flushing toilets, brushing teeth, etc. and bacteria can get around. The Mr. Clean with Febreze Disinfecting Bath Cleaners kill 99.9% of bacteria, which takes my bathroom to a whole other level of cleanliness.
Mr. Clean has really stepped up their game by making their already great line of cleaning products more “home-friendly.” The Mr. Clean with Febreeze fresh scent cleaners still have the strong cleaning power of their cleaners and are made even better with the more pleasant fragrances of Febreze. These new Mr. Clean with Febreze fresh scent products are available in stores nationwide for $2.99 – $3.69 SRP. For more information and special offers, please visit www.mrclean.com. Their website also includes a link to download $3.00 worth of coupons for Mr. Clean products.

I bought the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser the first day they had them in the store and have been a fan ever since. My husband sells antiques/collectibles and swears by the Mr. Clean Spray Cleaners that he uses to clean the years of gunk and grime off things before he sells them.

Just tried the Mr. Clean w/Febreze for mopping.
Did not work well. At all.
I *love* a strong scent. I WANT a strong scent. I’m not sure what their definition of “long lasting” is per the label on the bottle but more than an hour would have been nice.
It not only didn’t clean well and left a dull, rather sticky haze, but there is not a hint of lavender scent left today.
