  • Last week we talked about how sometimes it’s hard for adults to eat fiber – and we’re ADULTS, as in we’re supposed to have the maturity and discipline to eat what we’re supposed to be eating. But what about the kids? Can you picture trying to get a 4 year old to eat a bran muffin? Yeah…I didn’t think so. Plus, kids eat smaller amounts of food than adults, so they need to get the same recommended 25 grams of fiber in less food. One way to help supplement their fiber is with Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies.

    About Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies

    Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies

Now there’s a delicious daily fiber supplement to help kids ages 2-11 maintain better digestive health and stay regular.* The penguin-shaped, great tasting Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies are sugar-free, calorie-free, gluten-free and made with natural fruit flavors. With a recommended serving of three gummies every day, (equal to ½ cup of broccoli!), Fiber Gummies are a great way to supplement the fiber found in fruits, vegetables and other fiber-rich foods in your child’s daily diet. It’s a great solution to help bridge the gap between the American Academy of Pediatrics recommended amount of fiber and the fiber that kids actually consume in their daily diet.

    The Review

I feel like I’ve said this before, but gummies make eating more fun. Gummy worms, gummy rings, and now Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies. Delivering fiber in a gummy form makes it much easier to get the kiddos to eat because so many of their favorite fruit snacks are sweet and chewy. However, unlike fruit snacks, Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies are actually dentist approved. (The fact that these contain 0g of sugar probably helped with that.) Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies also just received the PTPA Seal (“Parent Tested, Parent Approved”) for excellence in family products.

Pedia-Lax Fiber GummiesMy bottle of Pedia-Lax contained 60 gummy penguins that were pink, orange, and purple.  I can’t be positive, but I’m pretty sure that the colors correspond to matching flavors, where pink is berry flavored, orange is orange flavored and purple is grape flavored. The fruit flavors are pretty mild and subtle, so most of the choices will be based on color preference ie. “What color do you want this time?

Each gummy penguin contains 2g of dietary fiber and it’s recommended that three are taken daily. They don’t specify if it’s all at once or one in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one in the evening. I’d probably opt to do all three at once to make it seem more like a snack. All said, that works out to a total of 6g of soluble fiber per day from three Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies.

While these are made for kids between 2-11 years, I’ll admit that I’ve eaten maybe, possibly a few more than was needed for testing. Clearly I need help taking fiber and if it’s good enough for the kids, it’s good enough for me! Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies are tasty and fun, making it easier to ensure that the entire family gets the fiber they need.

Fiber can be extremely useful in helping to maintain regularity, however fiber in the absence of plenty of water can actually lead to constipation.
