  • As I drove into town today, I knew that 4th of July was near once I saw the fireworks stands on the sides of the road. I used to live some place that didn’t allow you to set-off your own firework, which if you live somewhere that offers a great fireworks show is cool, but if you don’t, it’s kind of not fun. I’m looking forward to being able to (safely, of course) set off a few fireworks this year!

In honor of these fireworks, we’ve joined a group of bloggers to bring you the Red, White & Blue giveaway hop. Visit each blog for your chance to win a prize that is red, white, or blue! Good luck!

We celebrated at home with an indoor picnic with friends. It was too hot to be outside, plus my daughter has a broken leg so we skipped the parade this year.

Well, July 4th has come and we did have a wonderful celebration – starting with a bike ride down to the beach and a Coffee and French Rolls “picnic” as we watched the sunrise over the Lake.a

Later we brought a delicious homemade dinner over to my 90 year old Mom’s which we enjoy out on her little private patio. When Mom was ready to call it a night (early) we went home and climbed up on the roof to watch the fireworks in the distance (again, over the Lake.

All in all it was an almost perfect day.
