My friends and I enjoy grilling. Neither rain, nor wind, nor snow (yes – we’ve actually grilled while it’s snowing) has stopped us from enjoying freshly grilled ‘dogs and burgers. Of course when you grill that often, you need to get creative with your recipes – mix things up a little bit to keep your palette happy and interested.

This recipe was inspired by one of my friends who LOVES breakfast. If given the choice, he would eat breakfast for each meal of the day, and he probably has at some point. With this burger, we’re giving a nod to our favorite breakfast foods. You can serve this recipe with baked beans, but another great option is the new Tangy Carolina BBQ chips from Lay’s.

Lay's Regional Flavors

Lay’s has just introduced 7 new, regionally inspired flavors which includes: Honey Mustard, Chipotle Ranch, and Cajun Herb & Spice. I think the northwestern inspired Balsamic Sweet Onion sounds delicious. The new Lay’s Regional Flavored potato chips are made with all natural ingredients and 0 grams of transfats. I’ve only tasted Tangy Caroline BBQ so far and they are GOOD – definitely tangy, providing a nice twist on the traditional BBQ.

I was stumbling the other day and happened across this recipe for Chocolate Nutella Cupcakes on 52 Kitchen Adventures. My jaw dropped and right then, I decided that I would make them. The idea had been percolating in my head for a couple of weeks that I was going to try to make cupcakes from scratch…

Buttermilk Pancakes
It’s been awhile since Mix Master Miriam has made an appearance. It’s not for lack of baking – although there are still a few items on my “to-bake” list, including chocolate cake and home made bread. But there has been a lot of pancake making. It turns out, I’m pretty handy with a pancake flipper…

Cornbread
Over the past few months, I’ve been documenting my adventures in baking with my new KitchenAid mixer. Last weekend, I decided to do things a little differently and bake something without the mixer. For some reason – I have no idea why – I got an inkling to make corn bread. I didn’t grow up…

Chocolate Chip Muffins
This weekend I decided to attack a new type of bakery item. I’ve made cakes before (mostly from a box…except for the TWO, count ‘em, TWO pound cakes that I made.) I’ve also made cupcakes and brownies (also from boxes.) In a moment of inspiration (or hunger…or insanity) I decided to try to make chocolate…
