For the past few weeks, I’ve had a hankering for some licorice. OK, so perhaps it’s been a little more than a few weeks, and possibly it’s been a little more than “some.” I definitely have tried a few different types of licorice, but usually they’re hollow candy vines – I’d never had licorice with a filling.
More than a Vine or a Twist
I’ll admit that even as an adult, I enjoy some of the “kiddie” snacks. You know, the fruity, chewy snacks that make you feel like you’re eating candy, without actually eating candy. Welch’s Fruit Snacks have always been a favorite – especially since they’re made with fruit juice. With their new filled licorice, Welch’s is bringing together the best of both – yummy fruit snacks and delicious licorice.
Welch’s Filled Licorice is available in two of my favorite flavors – Concord Grape and Strawberry. The fruit filling inside the licorice truly makes this licorice unique. The grape filling is just amazing. Strawberry is usually my favorite flavor, but the Concord Grape Welch’s Filled Licorice is almost like eating licorice filled with Welch’s grape jelly. I could not eat just one. I just couldn’t.
But don’t discount the Strawberry flavor either. The strawberry filling reminds me of that delicious strawberry syrup that is used to top sundaes. Both flavors are sure to delight both kids and adults.
