Welcome to The WiC Project – the blog formerly known as What’s Cooking at DD!
I’ve been spending the past few weeks redesigning the blog, coding, tweaking, and debugging to bring this new and improved blog in the shape of The WiC Project. What is The WiC Project? I am the WiC Project – you may be the WiC project – anyone who is learning to love and grow in the Lord is part of the WiC project, for we are all striving to Walk in Christ!
I felt that it was time to move to this new domain, mainly because “What’s Cooking at DD” was a very limiting name. It all originated from my meal assembly days 3 years ago, and has just been rolling over and over from site to site. Everything was fine and dandy until I started to get the itch to start sharing more of my faith. How on earth does “What’s Cooking at DD” have anything to do with faith? Actually, if you read the “About” page, you can see that there is something to that story…but in general, food and faith don’t exactly go hand-in-hand.
It was time for a change. A time to grow. A time for a new design. And a time to migrate to the site you are on now. We’ll still feature product reviews and giveaways, namely because I have a lot of fun sharing my 2 cents on things. Plus, every time one of the giveaway winners shoots me an email letting me know that they received their prize and how it impacted their life or brightened their day, it makes me feel like I was able to help bring a blessing to someone.
For my dedicated readers, thank you for following me and I truly hope you enjoy the new blog home. Please feel free to let me know what you think and be sure to check back tomorrow for our first WiC Project giveaway!
WiC is a medicaid program meaning women, infants and children–it gives them healthy foods, formula, etc…–some people may be confused with your name change even if it is reflecting the Walk In Christ. you might want to check and make sure it's not a copyright of the Federal Government.
That was my first thought as well when I saw the WiC, that it was related to the govt. program.
I hadn't considered confusion with WIC. I made the “I” lowercase to “i”. I know it seems small but I think it makes a difference. I did a quick look-up of “WIC” and while there were several TM claims on “WIC”, none of them appeared to be for the gov't program. I think since the site is actually called “The WiC Project” instead of just WIC, we should be ok.
Thanks for giving me things to consider though. Always good to cover my bases. 🙂
