I’m admittedly something of a minimalist when it comes to makeup. I’m a huge fan of using makeup to help bring out your natural beauty. While there was a time I used to shop at the department store makeup counters (I was such a sucker for those “gifts with purchase”, I’ve since discovered that many of my favorite-I-will-buy-these-forever products are much more affordable and can be found at your local drugstore.
This year, celebrity beauty experts Jake Baily, Sunnie Brook Jones, and Tippi Shorter have these special beauty tips to help show off the “new you” in 2013. Check out this infographic with their recommendations for letting your beauty shine.
Cover Girl’s Lash Blast Mascara is one of my favorite mascara’s. This season, their Jumbo Gloss Balm and Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush are great beauty products that serve multiple purposes. They add a hint of color to your lips or cheeks and they offer hints of color and nourishment. The Cover Girl Jumbo Gloss Balm is infused with Shea and Mango butter, while the Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush contains Olay Regenerist serum which has vitamins, skin conditioners, and anti-oxidants.
While some people can get away with the “just woke up” look, most of us just look messy if we walk out the door without doing something to our hair. The Pantene Pro-V Beautiful Lengths Collection not only cleans your hair, but also strengths it to help prevent damage that leads to breakage.
If you haven’t heard of a CC Cream, CC stands for Color & Correct. Basically, the Olay Total Effects Tone Correction CC Cream will not only help give the appearance of smoother and even-toned skin, but it also treats seven signs of aging.

As a mother, I feel like I’ve been cornered into minimalism. Mascara and lip gloss are about all I have time for. I’ll occasionally use a little powder to help with shine, but not much else. My tip is to make your own cleansers and facial masks at home. There are so many recipes available online now, and I feel it’s so important these days to be able to control the ingredients in our everyday beauty products.
