The London 2012 Olympic Games kicked off this weekend, and along with the thousands of athletes in attendance were three-time Olympian and World Champion Water Polo Player Brenda Villa and her mom, Rosario. Moms may be considered the unsung heroes of the Olympic Games, as they’re the ones who are encouraging, supporting, and driving kids to early morning training or all day events.
P&G, the Proud Sponsor of Moms for the London 2012 Olympic Games, wants to remind us that you, the moms, and all that you do, are critical in helping our children reach their full potential – whether it’s becoming a teacher, astronaut, or an Olympian (or anything in between.)
“Encourage them, support them and allow them to follow their dreams. Make sure you give them the confidence to follow their own values and beliefs and stay true to themselves.”
– Rosario Villa, mother of Olympian Brenda Villa
With Rosario’s support, Brenda has become the world’s most decorated women’s water polo player of all time. This Olympic games, she’ll be working towards an Olympic gold medal to add to her current medal collection of two silvers and a bronze from previous Olympic games.
