It’s winter. When it’s winter, it snows. And when it snows, it’s the perfect time to drink hot chocolate. I L-O-V-E LOVE hot chocolate. Yes, I would even consider marrying it. OK, maybe not. But I’d definitely considering dating it. Haha! I’ve tried a few different types of hot chocolate, from powders to syrups to mixes, and I finally settled on one where you actually add chocolate shavings to heated milk. The biggest stumbling block to making my favorite hot chocolate is that you need to heat up the milk stove-top, then pour it into the mugs. Then you stir, stir, stir it to make sure all the chocolate melts in. It’s pretty time consuming.
Now that I’ve tried the Mr. Coffee Cocomotion, all that has changed. The Mr. Coffee Cocomotion automatically mixes and heats up your hot chocolate with just the press of a button. Simply add in the milk or water, toss in the hot chocolate mix, syrup or powder, then hit the “ON” button. A magnetic mixing disc in the center of the Cocomotion then whips the mixture into a perfectly blended pitcher of hot chocolate. You can see the nice swirl that the machine is able to make in the picturing below, which ensures that every piece of chocolate is melted down and the entire pitcher is mixed evenly.
It takes about 10 minutes to completely heat and mix up a full pitcher of hot chocolate (up to 4 cups.) The Cocomotion will keep mixing everything up until it reaches the correct temperature and will then automatically turn off. I’m not sure how it manages it, but the hot chocolate is the perfect temperature when it comes out of the Cocomotion – hot enough to give your mouth and stomach a pleasant burst of warmth, but not so hot that it burns. As an added touch (or as a by-product of the mixing), when your pour out your hot chocolate it has a little bit of froth on top.
One feature that was much appreciated is the convenient card storage wrap underneath the Cocomotion. You simply wrap the cord around the middle, and it is completely hidden from view and out of the way when it’s on the shelf.
It would be totally great if Mr. Coffee made a Cocomotion that was dishwasher safe, or had a detachable pitcher portion so you could throw that in the dishwasher. But until then, it’s still pretty easy to wash – you simply wash the interior and the magnetic mixing disk with mild soap and water.
I also really liked that the Cocomotion was a pitcher. I made 4 cups of hot chocolate (it can handle 2 to 4 cups at a time), drank one cup, then put the whole pitcher in the fridge. In the subsequent days, if I wanted a mug, I’d pull the Cocomotion out, plug it in, hit the “ON” button, and it will stir and heat the hot chocolate up again! The less hot chocolate there was in the pitcher, the shorter it took to reheat. The Cocomotion also has an locking-top that stays secure when you are pouring out the chocolate, so you don’t have to worry about the lid flying everywhere. When mixing or in storage, you just rotate the lid so the spout is sealed off.
If you, or anyone in your family, is a hot chocolate lover – or a lover of any drink that needs to be heated and mixed, really – then I highly recommend the Mr. Coffee Cocomotion. It quickly and easily brews up the perfect cup of hot chocolate by just adding ingredients and hitting a button. You can buy the amazing Cocomotion online from Amazon! It’s currently on sale for $49.99.
