Whether it’s the Secret Santa who gives out $100 bills every Christmas or the woman in your church who always offers a kind ear and support, there are good people out there. There are people who strive to live lives that uplift, encourage, and make this world a better place. The Energizer Keep Going® Hall of Fame is on the search for people who do just that – people with an “unwavering determination, an energetic spirit and the drive to make a difference.” The selected hall of famer will join Baseball Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr. and others who have been recognized for their own unstoppable energy.
Personally, I know that my paster is just one of those people. He’s the type of person who you can call day or night, rain or shine to talk about your concerns, fears or worries, and he will always, always leave you feeling hopeful, more positive, and overall just blessed. He’s the type of person who will literally give away his last dollar to someone who needs the dollar more than he does. He’s the type of person who brings laughter and joy to a party and whose mere presence can make you feel better. In short, he makes life better for everyone he comes across and he never gives up on his effort to make things just plain good.
If you know someone who fits the criteria, I encourage you to nominate them for the Energizer Keep Going® Hall of Fame. If selected as a semifinalist, your nominee will be honored in their home town. 10 finalists will then be selected (9 by judges and 1 by Energizer Bunny Facebook fans) who will receive a $1000 donation to a charity and a flip camcorder to help their campaign efforts. The Energizer Keep Going® Hall of Fame Inductee will be selected by an online public vote and will receive a $10,000 cash prize plus a $5,000 donation to a charity of his or her choice. This is a great way to help bless someone who has been blessing you.
About the Energizer Keep Going Hall of Fame
From now through Feb. 4, 2011, people are invited to enter their own personal stories or nominate someone they know online at www.energizer.com/halloffame. Just like America’s non-stop icon, the Energizer Bunny®, nominees should embody the Keep Going® spirit by making a positive impact on the world through extraordinary determination and courage. Cal Ripken, Jr., who became the first member of the Energizer Keep Going® Hall of Fame six years ago, is once again helping lead the search for the next Inductee.
This year, as Energizer is powering up its search, Cal Ripken, Jr. and the Energizer Bunny® are looking for stories of not only those with endless energy, but also those who have helped change the world for the better. It’s a part of Energizer’s Now That’s Positivenergy™ campaign to help everyday citizens channel their power to make a positive impact, whether it be in their local community or around the world.

I would nominate my friend Jen. She has had juvenile arthritis since childhood, 1 hip replaced twice, wife and mom of 2 boys, published author, runs her own blog with book reviews and interviews of authors–plus book giveaways, she’s on the local library board, has been French teacher, national represenative for the Arthritis Foundation, runs an annual fundraiser to send children with JA to a summer camp, and she never stops despite being in chronic pain.
I decided to nominate Jen in the Energizer Hall Of Fame–wish her luck!
I would nominate Michelle Duggar because she has all those children, and she still has the energy to stand upright and smile. This is more than I can do half the time, and I only have three kids. God Bless her.

I would nominate my Grandfather. Born in Texas during segregation he was the 2nd oldest of 17 children. His mother passed away at age 34 and he helped raise his siblings. He against the odds he rose out of extreme poverty and received a college education in social work, He served in WW2 (where he met my Grandmother) Korea and Vietnam. He is the backbone to our family. He raised my father and his siblings and all us grandchildren with an appreciation of who we are where we came from and the importance of helping those who are less fortunate than us. He taught us not to judge others, and even at the ripe age of 88 still does whatever he can to reach a helping hand to those who need it. He is the most unbiased person I’ve ever know and if we strove to be more like him the world would be a much better place.
