Busting Fur with Bamboo Pet’s FurBuster & Giveaway

hairballThis is Hobbes. He is a 14 lb. single, orange tabby with a penchant for food and long naps in the sun. He is also the victim test subject for the Bamboo Pet’s FurBuster De-Shedding Tool. Now I’ve gone through my fair share of pet brushes. I have no less than 4 different brushes hidden away in one of my drawers, none of which got the job done. Either they didn’t pick up any hair, or it pulled out hair, or the cats thought it was a toy and not a hygiene product. I was fully prepared to chalk up the Bamboo Pet’s FurBuster as just another gimmicky brush, with their picture of a dog surrounded by mounds of hair and their promises of removing both loose hair (the usually bristley top part) and the undercoat (the nice soft part which – admit it – you almost want to use to stuff a pillow.) Boy, was I surprised. This brush ROCKS!

The Bamboo Pet’s FurBuster De-Shedding Tool comes in three different colors (pink, blue, and green) and has interchangeable blades in small, medium, or large sizes that you can purchase based on the size of your cat or dog. As you can see in the photo, I got the nice pink one with a small blade that is the perfect size for the kitties.

One of the problems that I’ve had with other brushes is that they could only operate in a certain direction, which meant twisting my hand in a weird position, or rotating a brush head, or sometimes rotating the cat. And while the Bamboo Pet’s FurBuster De-Shedding Tool has a handle and a “direction” that you’re supposed to brush, I found that the shape of the brush made it easy to hold in various positions. Sometimes I would use the handle, other times I would grasp it around the “head” of the brush (where it’s white).

The website has a couple of pictures and the video below also has some images of how much hair comes off your pet. My picture doesn’t show quite as much hair, but I think that’s based on a couple of factors. 1. Hobbes doesn’t have a lot of super long hair. Yes, he’s soft and fuzzy, but he’s not a long-haired cat. 2. In the video, you see people pulling clumps hair off the brush and letting them float down, creating a large array of hair clumps surrounding the animal. While I too was pulling clumps off the brush, I couldn’t let them float down or the cats would start attacking them. Hence, the picture is a hair BALL. I assure you that if I didn’t have to ball it up, then it would look like a lot more hair.

I think the biggest testimony to the hair brush, other than the amount of hair that is now in the trash can instead of on my nice wool coat, is that Hobbes actually likes being brushed with it. He’ll politely roll over onto his side as if to say “OK, get this section now.” The brush actually does remove both types of hair without pulling or hurting the cats (which the cats will DEFINITELY let me know if it does.) I’m so pleased with this brush, that I’m even considering giving one to my parents – which if you knew my parents, you’d understand to be a true testimony to how much I like the product.

    This will be good for my pets to minimize pulling there hair in the couch so sneezy. Thanks for this furminator shedding it really helpful and easy to use.
