I love ice cream. And if you’re being honest – you do too. Is there anyone who doesn’t like ice cream? I don’t think so. So when it comes to a delicious treat for mom, wouldn’t she L.O.V.E. something that is more than just a box of chocolates? How about a box filled with unique, hand packed, completely delicious ice cream? If you think mom (or if you) would like something so yummy, keep reading to learn more about Graeter’s Ice Cream.
About Graeter’s Ice Cream
Days when you receive a container filled with ice cream can only be good days. I was like a kid when my box of Graeter’s ice cream arrived, carefully packed and completely frozen, filled with 6 pints of different Graeter’s ice cream. Strawberry, Vanilla, Butter Pecan, Black Raspberry Chip, Mocha Chocolate Chip, and Mint Chocolate Chip. I’m drooling even as I type.
Let me tell you a story. One day, Miriam invited some friends over for some ice cream. These friends eagerly helped themselves to their favorite flavor of Graeter’s Ice Cream, eating to their heart’s content. The next day, Miriam goes to the freezer to get some ice cream for herself. Miriam opens the pint of Graeter’s Butter Pecan ice cream and discovers that someone has eaten over half of the Butter Pecan ice cream already! To ensure that she is able to enjoy the Butter Pecan ice cream, Miriam proceeds to finish the contents of the ice cream container. *BURP* It was THAT GOOD. The Graeter’s Butter Pecan ice cream is wonderfully rich, creamy, and smooth with the perfect buttery flavor.
Founded in 1870, Graeter’s ice cream uses a traditional “French Pot” process to make their ice cream. Making only 2 gallons at a time, and using only all-natural ingredients (such as fresh cream, 100% cane sugar, and Madagascar vanilla beans), the Graeter’s secret recipe is swirled along the chilled sides of the pot. As the pot is spinning, they scrape the sides of the pot, folding the ice cream into itself. This prevents air from getting into the ice cream, making the ice cream very dense and creamy.
Graeter’s is also known for the huge chunks of chocolate in some of their ice creams. And by huge, I mean possible over an inch long! These chunks are made by pouring liquid chocolate directly into the French Pot, and then breaking the frozen chocolate into chunks. Personally, I felt like I found buried treasure whenever I discovered a large chocolate chunk in my bowl of ice cream. The chocolate was smooth and had a great creamy texture to it as well.
For an unbelieveable ice cream experience for you or your mother, Graeter’s Ice Cream is an ice cream like no other. After quickly finishing 1 (the Butter Pecan), and working my way half way through 2 (so far – Strawberry and Mint Chocolate Chip), and starting on the other 3, I understand why Oprah said, “You haven’t had ice cream till you’ve had Graeter’s.” Graeter’s Ice Cream is available for purchase from Graeter’s stores in Ohio and Kentucky, or from one of 2500 grocery stores in 23 states. It is also available for purchase online, where you can order a variety pack or build your own flavor pack from one (or more) of the 24 available flavors and have it shipped directly to your home (lower 48 states only.)
