I first discovered GrubHub several months ago. It was getting late, people were feeling lazy, and yet people were very hungry. What to do when no one wants to actually leave or cook to get food? Usually there are two options – pizza or Chinese. But what if you don’t want either of those? Determined to find another solution, I turned to the internet and discovered GrubHub.com.
About GrubHub.com
GrubHub.com, an online and mobile service that shows diners neighborhood restaurants that deliver or offer pick-up and allows them to order from the comfort of their own home just launched in Baltimore. In addition to exploring more local restaurants, Baltimore diners can also use the service to compare menu prices, read diner reviews or find unique coupon offers.
The Review
I used GrubHub on almost a weekly basis. It’s the perfect option for those lunches or dinners where things are super busy or when food is running low. With GrubHub, I can quickly and easily find restaurants in my local area that deliver to my home.
To use GrubHub.com, simply visit the site, type in your address and browse the restauarants that pop up. You can search by those that do pickup, delivery, or both. You can also narrow down your choices by food item, cuisine, or restaurant name. Once you find a restaurant that interests you, you can then browse the menu, choose what you want, and complete the order online. After the order is placed, you simply wait for your food to show up at your door. It is, in a word (okay in two words,) incredibly convenient.
I love that I not only can I order food for delivery, but that it also shows me local restaurants in my neighborhood. This is a great way to discover a new favorite local stop or if you’re new to or visiting an area, you can use it to find restaurants to dine at, offering a nice change from room service. Each of the restaurants display a GrubHub rating and the Yelp rating to help you choose just the right spot. Another bonus feature is that they save your previous orders, allowing you to quickly re-order your favorite items from your favorite restaurant.
Since I use GrubHub mostly for delivery, I appreciate that they clearly show the minimum order needed for delivery as well as the delivery price (which varies by restaurant.) If you’re interested in pickup, they also give you the distance to the restaurant and a mini-map to help you find your way.
If you’re looking for new local restaurants to order from, or maybe you’re just not feeling like getting in the car to find something new, then simply hop online and visit GrubHub.com to find restaurants the offer delivery (and/or pickup) in your neighborhood. On the road and don’t have computer access? Download GrubHub’s free app (available for both iPhone and Android) to find food delivery and takeout options. Seriously – convenient!
If you’re looking for a GrubHub coupon and live in the Baltimore metro area, here’s a Baltimore GrubHub coupon code that will get you $5 off your order – WIC5. Please note that it is only available to the first 100 redemptions and expires on 1/3/12 at 11:59PM CST. (And remember – just for the Baltimore area! You can view coupon code terms here.)
