I don’t typically wear a lot of makeup. But there are times when it’s kind of fun to get “dolled up” for a night out – whether it’s for a birthday dinner or a date night with Gil. One of the biggest struggles I’ve had with makeup is eyeliner.
I usually haven’t worn eyeliner because it was hard for me to put it on without looking like a raccoon. Either the eyeliner lines were crooked, or they were uneven, or I would accidentally poke myself in the eye with a pencil which would make me give up on the whole thing and just skip it.
I’ve just discovered my new solution for wearing eyeliner – the Chella Eyeliner Pen.
My favorite part about the Chella Eyeliner Pen is the tip. It has a felt tip that allows you to easily, and smoothly, apply eyeliner. For beginners (like me,) you can simply press the tip horizontally across your eyelash line. This reduces the chance that you’ll poke yourself in the eye, since you’re really just using the side of the tip. You can use the end of the tip for a very thin line or press against the base to create a thicker eyeliner look.
The Chella Eyeliner Pen is also smudge-proof (yay!) but also washes off easily at the end of the day.
To amp up your eyes even further, use the Chella Heated Eyelash Curler. I’ve used traditional eyelash curlers before and have also heard of people using their hair dryers to heat up their eyelash curlers for that extra curl. I never quite took to the idea of putting a piping hot eyelash curler next to my eye. Fortunately, Chella’s Heated Eyelash Curler is the solution for those who want extra eyelash curl with less risk.
When I first removed the Chella Heated Eyelash Curler from the box, it reminded me of traditional eyelash brushes. But on closer inspection, I could see small heating coils at the top of the curler. I installed the included battery and switched it on to allow the curler to heat up. Chella recommends you allow the Heated Eyelash Curler to heat up for 20 seconds and have mascara already applied to the lashes. (It totally works without mascara too, though.)
I love that Chella makes it easy to amp your eye makeup routine – whether it’s an all-natural look to run errands or to dress up a little for a special occasion (or even just because.)

My favorite makeup tip or hot and or humid days in summer that I just learned this year and is working awesome.. is to put a thin layer of Milk Of Magnesia as a primer on your face and let dry (takes a couple of minutes to dry thoroughly) before applying your foundation and other makeup and not only does it work as the best primer of any actual primers I have ever tried (helps some women with acne too!) .. but it works so well to prevent makeup meltdown and sweat and shine that it even worked on our trip to Florida being outside in the hot sun for 3 days!
Try using tape as a guide to do the cat eye look.

Always, always, always apply a highlight color to the inside corner of each eye (blend it) and along the brow bone (blend it). It’s amazing how much this opens your eyes and brightens your look.
My go to makeup item is mascara for sure. If I don’t have time for a full face of makeup or am just feeling lazy I at least put mascara on. I feel like it brightens up my eyes and makes me look more awake and alert.
