Do you notice anything odd about this place setting?
How about the fact that both the knife and the fork are actually 1½ pound weights?
With the Knife and Fork Lift, you don’t have to joke about chewing your food being your workout – eating actually will be a work out. With every bite, while you’re cutting and lifting the food to your mouth, you’re essentially doing half curls with 1½ pound weights in your hands.
Custom-made with stainless steel, the Knife and Fork lift utensils are 10″-11″ high. The weights are thin enough (about 1″ diameter) that you can hold them in your hand comfortably, but you’ll definitely notice the additional weight. On further inspection, you will see that the knife and fork portion of the utensils have been securely welded onto the weights, allowing you to “turn eating into exercise!” I’ve still got relatively puny arms, so I could definitely feel the weight when I tried to do a few curls with these suckers. I also noticed that they seemed to work the forearms as well, especially when you’re doing a fork rotation (stabbing the food and then rotating slightly to put in in your mouth.) I could definitely picture doing lots of reps to help tone and define the arm muscles.
According to Knife and Fork Lift inventor, Tom Madden, the Knife and Fork Lift can also help slow down fast eaters. “Eating with the Knife and Fork Lift changes the rhythm. It actually gets you thinking of being slower.” Eating slower gives your body more time to recognize that it’s full, which usually means you’ll stop eating sooner. Less food going in means less calories you’ll have to burn off later.
With the holidays coming up, these would be a fun gift for the already health-conscious and a helpful gift for folks who are just starting to try to get healthy. The Knife and Fork Lift is available for purchase online at www.knifeandforklift.com for just $24.95/set plus shipping.
