Sometimes stains can be tough. I’ve tried stain sticks, stain sprays, and bleach in an effort to help get rid of tough stains. As if doing laundry wasn’t enough of a chore, having to pre-treat or pre-soak clothes before I even start washing them is just another step that I’d love to be able to skip. It’s all about efficiency – getting the clothes into and out of the washer and dryer as quickly as possible. With the new Purex Complete with Zout, those preliminary steps can be virtually eliminated, reducing the amount of time you spend in the laundry room.
About Purex Complete with Zout
The Review
The new Purex Complete with Zout is available in two fragrances – Fresh Morning Burst and Free & Clear (the fragrance-free and hypoallergenic formula for sensitive skin version.) I received the Fresh Morning Burst sample and on first sniff, totally LOVED the scent. It smells clean and almost sweet yet isn’t overly perfumey. In truth, if that scent came in a perfume, I’d buy it in a heartbeat. No joke.
I quickly prepared my laundry to be washed with the new detergent. As usual, I just “happened” to have a few piles of clothes that needed cleaning as part of my master plan. *cough* I filled up the washer with water, mixed in the detergent, and then threw in the clothes. No pre-anything. Just toss and wash. During the wash, the stain-fighting enzymes in Purex Complete with Zout went to work.
Protease: Works against protein based stains such as grass and blodd
Amylase: Works against starchy stains such as chocolate and tomato sauce
Mannanase: Works against guar, which is used as a thickener in many foods, such as ice cream barbecue sauce, and salad dressing, because it’s super sticky.
Less than 2 hours later and the freshly laundered clothes are out of the dryer. The Fresh Morning Burst scent is lighter on the clean clothes than it smells in the bottle – just a hint of scent. I did a second load where I used Purex Complete Crystals Softener, and there the Fresh Morning Burst seemed to balance out with the Crystals scent, making for clothes that smelled just right.
Purex Complete with Zout did a great job of getting my clothes clean. It even removed all evidence of some pizza sauce that had dripped onto my shirt. For more serious stains, you can also use Purex Complete with Zout as a pre-treater, pouring a little detergent directly onto the stain, rubbing it in, and letting it soak for 5 minutes before washing.
One thing I noticed was that the detergent seemed to dissolve into the water much better than my old detergent. For example, with the other detergent – which is a similar blue color as Purex Complete with Zout – after mixing the detergent into the water, the water is tinted creamy blue. Purex Complete with Zout mixed into the water without turning the water a funny color. That gives the impression that the Purex works with the water, since it dissolves so well. I’m not sure if there’s a science to that, but it makes me feel that it’s cleaning my clothes more naturally, and not with as many chemicals.
Another area where Purex Complete with Zout really shines is in price. Coming in between $3.49 and $7.99 depending on the size, it’s more than half the price of other HE or even regular brands of liquid detergent, making it amazingly affordable. You can find it in retailers such as Walmart, Target, Kroger, and Publix nationwide.
Purex Complete with Zout is so confident that you’ll love the new detergent, that they’re giving you the chance to “Prove it to yourself” and get a free sample of the new Purex Complete with Zout. Simply visit www.FreeSamplePurex.com and request your free sample.

The website says it works on tough stains like grass, chocolate, and tomato sauce. I’m hoping it works on my husband’s work clothes. Sometimes his jeans are black from top to bottom from the grease/oil at his job. I would like to try the Fresh Morning scented product. We like the good smelly stuff around this house!
