Music is magical. With a few notes, a few words, a few keys played, a musician can transport a listener into a story, a feeling, a new world. As a pianist and someone who pretends like they can sing, I can appreciate all of the benefits that music has to offer. If you have never belted out a song at the top of your lungs, you should try it. It can be very therapeutic.
Unfortunately, the real world has budget cuts and staff restrictions, which means that many of the musical classes that we had when we were kids are slowly getting removed from the curriculum. In an effort to restore instrumental music back into the public school system Energizer has partnered with the VH1 Save The Music Foundation. Energizer is making eight grants to public schools around the country and is donating $250,000 to the VH1 Save The Music Foundation.
