I first dove into the culinary world of Thai cooking late last year. As someone who didn’t have a whole lot of experience cooking Asian food in general, it was somewhat of a risk for my testers, I’ll admit it. But in fact, the results of my first attempt at cooking Thai food were actually quite successful due to the hefty assistance from Thai Kitchen products.
About Thai Kitchen
The Review
As if using Thai Kitchen wasn’t already easy enough, this time around I got to test products that made cooking authentic tasting Thai food even easier. The first up was Chicken Panang Curry, which uses the Thai Kitchen Panang Curry 10-Minutes Simmer Sauce. The simmer sauce makes it SUPER easy to create the dish. I followed the recipe on the back of the jar – simply heat up the curry sauce, add chicken, add vegetables and voila! Chicken Panang Curry.
In a word, the Panang Curry is delicious. The final dish is something that is bursting with flavor without being too heavy (no food coma here!) The combination of the coconut milk, panang curry paste, and other Thai ingredients blended together perfectly to create an authentic-tasting Thai curry dish. It wasn’t spicy at all and I relished the opportunity to soak up the yummy curry sauce with my rice. The interesting thing for me was that when I ate it with coconut rice, the curry took on a more savory and meaty flavor. When I ate it with regular jasmine rice, the lemongrass flavor popped out more.
Thai Kitchen also offers coconut milk and jasmine rice, which I used to make the coconut rice mentioned earlier. I followed the directions on the Thai Kitchen Jasmine Rice box to make a batch of regular jasmine rice, then I used a slightly modified version of the Thai Kitchen Coconut Rice recipe that took advantage of the excellent Thai Kitchen coconut milk to make coconut rice. As long as you follow the cooking instructions on the box and recipe, you shouldn’t have any problem cooking up perfectly cooked jasmine rice.
If you want to enjoy Thai food at work, make sure you check out the Thai Kitchen Rice Noodle Carts. Picture a microwave meal that actually has flavor and actually tastes like real food. Simply follow the instructions on the package to prepare your Noodle cart, and in about three minutes, you’ll have a delicious Thai meal that you can eat at home or in the office.
I really looked forward to trying the Thai Peanut Noodle Cart…mainly because I love peanut anything. I mixed the dried vegetables into the noodles, added some water and nuked the container. A few minutes later, I was pulling out my freshly heated noodles, topped it with some sauce, and sat down to enjoy a great meal. The sauce provided most of the flavor, with the peanuts adding a great crunch. The rice noodles are actually pre-cooked, allowing them to come out of the microwave with the perfect tenderness (with rice noodles, you don’t want them too hard or too mushy.) As an extra bonus, the container that the meal comes in is dishwasher-safe and can be re-used. (It has been diligently added to my storage collection.)
For authentic tasting, it’s-like-a-Thai-restaurant-delivered-to-my-house Thai food, Thai Kitchen gives you the foundation you need. Using fresh and natural ingredients, Thai Kitchen makes it easy for you to bring a taste of Asia to your kitchen.
