Many times when my fellow testers and I get together a lot of food is eaten. This is probably because three of them are grown men, and one is a boy who eats like a grown man. We’ll get together for what I call “Sample Saturdays”, when we’ll go on a testing blitz. But regardless of what is being tested, we MUST have food. A perfect choice to serve these hungry testers are the new Tyson Any’tizers.
Tyson Foods recently introduced four new Any’tizer varieties that include Sauce and Stir Packets. The new flavors are Chicken Breast Chunks with General Tso Sauce, Chicken Breast Chunks with Spicy Sweet & Sour Sauce, Crispy Breaded wings with Citrus Fire Sauce and Crispy Breaded Wings with General Tso Sauce. All of the Sauce and Stir Any’tizer varieties contain no MSG, soy protein or fillers. These four products are added to the current line-up of Tyson’s Any’tizers. We tried two varieties of Tyson Any’tizers – their new Chicken Breast Chunks with General Tso Sauce and the Any’tizer Variety Pack, which includes Popcorn Chicken, Homestyle Chicken Fries, and Buffalo Style Boneless Chicken Wyngs.
Cooking up the Tyson’s Any’tizers is very easy. Simply preheat the oven to 400°F, place the chicken on a baking sheet, and cook for the appropriate amount of time. We did add a few extra minutes to both Any’tizers, which has been the trend for our testing oven. If you need to serve these in a pinch, you can also heat the Any’tizers in the microwave. If your Any’tizer includes the Sauce and Stir packet, you heat up the sauce separately and then pour it over the cooked chicken.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a picture of the new Chicken Breast Chunks with General Tso Sauce because ALL of it was eaten before I remembered to grab a picture. It was a case where once the chicken was out and sauced up, we just kept going back for one more piece. I must have eaten 3 or 4 “one more pieces” and the guys ate much more than me. Clearly, it was a big hit. Out of the oven, it was the perfect crispiness and once the sauce was added, it tasted like it came from a Chinese restaurant.
One thing that I like about the Sauce and Stir Any’tizers is that because the sauce is packaged separately, you can customize the flavor how you want. If you like it saucy – add all of the Sauce and Stir packet; if you like it milder – only add a little. This is also perfect for families with picky kid eaters since you can sauce/not sauce depending on what your child likes. For the adventurous folks, you can also add your own ingredients to the included sauce to add your own flair to the dish if you want. It keeps the tasting experience very flexible and adaptable.
The Tyson’s Any’tizer Variety Pack also went over well, especially with the kids. There wasn’t a clear favorite of the three varieties we tried, since everyone had their own preference. The Tyson’s Any’tizer Homestyle Chicken Fries are perfect for kid-sized hands, and since they’re in the shape of fries, it makes them fun to eat and easy to dip into a sauce. The adults seemed to gravitate towards the Buffalo Style Boneless Chicken Wyngs with it’s burst of spicy flavor in each tender chicken bite. One tester thought it was the best oven-baked chicken he ever had. Finally, the Popcorn Chicken came out very juicy and crispy, with a subtle flavor in the breading and was the perfect bite-sized nugget.
