Last year, we introduced you to World Vision – a Christian organization that strives to address the causes of poverty. One of the ways that they are able to bring aide and relief to struggling communities throughout the world is through their World Vision Gift Catalog. Through the Gift Catalog, people like you and me are able to support their efforts by purchasing gifts that help fight poverty. This isn’t an amorphous “help build a school” type thing, it’s a targeted and specific “I’d like to buy a chicken for a family” act. One where you know that the initial gift of one chicken can grow into a whole coop of chickens. This is a great way to bless those who are in need.
P.S. If we strive to bless others, the Holy Spirit moves through us as we do the act, leaving a lovely blessing residue within ourselves. In other words, bless others and you will be blessed.
About the World Vision Gift Catalog
This year meaningful, useful gifts can be purchased through the World Vision Gift Catalog, as 89 percent of donations received go to programs helping children and families overcome poverty in nearly 100 countries.
Each of the 35 pages in the catalog overflows with gifts, inspiring stories and photos. The catalog offers more than 100 poverty-fighting gifts ranging in price from $16 to $39,000 that can be purchased in the name of a family member, teacher, co-worker or child, including many affordable items under $30

I gave a goat (I think) one year for Christmas through this program. Now, that I have kids, money is tighter, but I really think this year we will try to give again. I would give the $35 for medicine. You can’t beat the 11x’s return for such a crucial item.
