Have you ever need to just do “one more thing” but didn’t have the time? Do you need to run to the store to pick something up before it closes? Or maybe you’re feeling super lazy and want someone else to clean your house. Zaarly.com is a new online service that allows you to get the help you want, when you want it, at the price you want. On the flip-side, you can peruse the what people want and then offer to fulfill that task for them.
What is Zaarly? Zaarly is a mobile commerce platform that changes how individuals buy and sell with people around them. Just post what you want, when you need it and how much you’re willing to pay.
I think this is such an innovative idea – both for people who do and don’t have time. It’s a great way to balance everything out – to yin-yang chores, in a sense. Those who need time can get help from those who have time. If you need something done, you can post to Zaarly.com, specifying the task you need completed, the price you want to pay, and the deadline. If you want to help someone get something done, then you can browse the opportunities and select those that you want by replying to the buyer to express your interest (you can even ask for a little more money if needed.)
A recent article in The Wall Street Journal shows that Zaarly.com is on the right track. In today’s economy, thousands of people are looking for one-off jobs they can take on to supplement their income – whether it’s buying someone a pair of shoes or delivering flowers to a loved on.
Virtual assistant apps like Zaarly … are creating a mobile marketplace for peer-to-peer transactions, in real time and in the immediate vicinity of the users. WSJ’s Andy Jordan checks out a few, and farms out the bathing of his own cat.
From home improvements to event planning to finding someone to pick-up the dog poop in your yard, Zaarly can help you find someone to do the dirty jobs. Zaarly is currently active in over 200 cities across the US, including New York City, LA, and Boston. There are several posts in my area, including someone looking for a dog and house-sitter (which is at $500! Wowsa!) and someone who seeks a dining room table at $200.
Now is a great time to sign-up for Zaarly. For every new sign-up received through this post, Zaarly will donate $1 to Feeding America. There’s nothing to lose and nothing but time (or some spare cash) to gain by signing-up for Zaarly!
