I was a happy camper watching these shows until someone told me the truth about Iron Chef secret ingredients which totally changed how I viewed the show. I decided to discover the truth behind some of the other shows I might have watched.
I’ll preface this by saying that these are all things that I’ve read online or heard from other people. These may be rumors or they may be true. Only the people involved with the shows know “for sure”.
7 Disappointing Reality Show Secrets:
This is one of the few Food Network shows I have trouble watching. Starting from trying to understand how no one notices the giant “hidden” cameras, to the incomplete “advice” that is given in the final 10 minutes, this show just wasn’t as believable to me as other reality TV shows. Turns out, most (if not all) the drama is faked and may be coordinated by the producers. If that isn’t enough, that waiter that spills food, drinks on the job, and lies about it is likely a paid actor. Yup, Restaurant Stakeout puts out casting calls for their show with actors being paid ~$120/day for 1-3 days.
