Quite a few of you know that this past weekend I went to New York to attend this year’s BlogHer conference. The trip in itself was wonderful, with informative sessions and some cool swag. Here are a couple of random thoughts, highlights, and lowlights from my trip.
Dear Warwick New York – Your value package was truly a value. I loved the free breakfast, free wifi, free water, free movie, and free room upgrade. You didn’t even mention the free cookies that were waiting in the room. And I LOVE the lights that fade on and off, along with the uber control panel that allowed me to turn on/off the lights from the comfort of the bed. I was also really impressed with room service. The chicken taquitos and the warm apple crumb were delicious! My only gripe is that the toilet broke. 🙁
Dear New York Streets – You smell. Like sewage. I had to hold my breath every time I walked by one of the grates.
Dear Taxi Driver #1 – How in the world you managed to get me to my hotel in one piece I have no idea. And how your car doesn’t have any scratches or dents on it is a mystery to me given the way you drive. Your driving is utterly insane in the membrane and I pray that no one gets hurt as a result of it.
Dear Taxi Driver #2 – Your tip was so small because I know you purposefully decided to take 7th Avenue with it’s long waits and traffic instead of 5th Avenue just so you could rack up the slow speed/idle time. Not cool.
Dear Times Square Information Center – You were not informative at all. The person behind the “Information Booth” said that he had “No idea” of things to do at night in New York and pointed me to a tourism book. He didn’t even try to help.
Dear Bolt Bus – Even though I had to deal with a witch of a woman on the ride up to New York, the ride there and back was so easy because of you. Just sit in the chairs and relax. I love the free WiFi and the electrical outlets. I could even play Starcraft II on the ride home!
Dear BlogHer – I learned a lot at the conference – both about blogging and about myself. Thank you for arranging, hosting, planning, and organizing such a great event.
Dear BlogHer Gala Attendees – You all sounded amazing on stage! Thanks for providing the evening’s entertainment.
I’ll be seeing you New York! Or not.
Found your site by accident…Love your design and layout. One of the best I have ever seen. I make it a point to follow other believers.
