Happy National Root Beer Float Day: Celebrate with This Delicious Root Beer Float Recipe

Today, August 6, 2021 is National Root Beer Float Day! We’ve been experiencing record-setting heat over the past few weeks, which leaves us looking for fun (and even delicious) ways to cool off. And what better way to cool off today than with a delicious Root Beer Float featuring Virgil’s Handcrafted Root Beer!

After trying to brew my own root beer at home, I can tell you that making a GOOD root beer is a science. I struggled to find the right balance of yeast to flavor to sugar, and in the end, I gave up after making a few batches. The much easier solution for me to enjoy a cool bottle of root beer is to just buy it at the store. But even then, I’m still looking for the hallmarks of a good root beer. For me, I want a good root beer flavor with no artificial flavors or preservatives. I found that root beer in Virgil’s Handcrafted Root Beer.

Ingredients

• 1 Virgil’s Handcrafted Root Beer (or Zero-Sugar Root Beer)
• Vanilla Ice Cream

Instructions

1. Get a nice tall glass (preferably a mighty mug!)

2. Drop one scoop of vanilla ice cream into the bottom of the glass

3. Pour Virgil’s root beer over the scoop until it fills up about halfway

4. Drop another scoop of vanilla ice cream into the mix

5. Fill to the top of the glass with Virgil’s!

6. Grab spoon and experiment with your preferred balance of ice cream and root beer in each bite
