Some mornings I wake up and just want something light and totally refreshing. Even in the middle of winter, I enjoy a nice fruit smoothie to kick off my day. They provide tons of nutrients without weighing me down with extra fat or carbs that can sometimes make you feel “blah.”
I have a few go-to ingredients that I use based on watching employees at smoothie stores make lots of smoothies. I almost always use an orange juice base. Why? Because I like orange juice and I love the vitamin C boost. Any go-to ingredient is frozen strawberries. To make this smoothie a little more exciting, I’m also using some frozen pineapple. The last ingredient – ice.
Theoretically you could use all of the same ingredients fresh, but then you might get more of a pureed juice instead of a frozen smoothie. I’m here for the frozen smoothie.

This is the best alternative to paying $5.00 for a 16 oz. smoothie at one of those smoothie shops. Thank you so much for posting this.
