You never really understand how chaotic and stressful the world can be until you try to take yourself out of it. On a typical day, I wake up, get up, and go. From the time I brush my teeth in the morning to the time I brush my teeth in the evening, it’s “Gotta remember to do XYZ” or “I need to make sure I ABC.” It feels like my mind is running a million thoughts a minute. Whether my head so full of things that I’m trying to remember, sometimes I forget who I am.
If you’re like me, then sometimes you need a little help to slow down. You might need a friend or a loved one to tell you, “Hey! Make sure you take a break and get in the time that you need.” And you might stop, and take that time, but then have all of those thoughts still try to bombard you, only this time they’re distracting you from your peace. There are many things that can help you achieve that quiet time that we all NEED (but that we usually don’t get.)
I recently took a Cerra™ journey, courtesy of SheSpeaks, to help me re-discover, re-center, and re-lax. There are several Cerra™ products that are designed to help you be aware of what you are feeling, act upon those feelings, and then reflect on the experience.
“The “Cerra™ experience can assist you to become more aware of your thoughts and feelings, act with thoughtful intention, and reflect on your experiences, all helping you on your journey towards a happier, more balanced life.”
There are Seven Intentions along that journey which can each be used to inspire or focus your Moments throughout the day: Grounded, Creative Energy, Gratitude, Loving Kindness, Courage, Wisdom, Inspiration. For each Intention, you can use one of many Cerra™ products to help you with your Moment. Right now, I am listening to the amazing “Tree of Seven Intentions” CD, which has relaxing and inspiring music for each Intention. I also have Creative Energy Sensory Oil applied to my wrists to help inspire my creative energy (since I’m writing!)
There are so many wonderful tools to help you get the time that you need or to help you appreciate each Intention. One of my favorite items is the dissolving notes. Simply write an emotion, thought, or feeling onto the note paper that you feel the need to release or let go of. Place the paper in water and slowly breathe in and out, releasing that emotion. Watch as it dissolves away in the water. It feels amazing and is a great visual and emotional way to recognize and deal with emotions that need to be addressed.
Another great way to become more aware is through writing your experiences down in a journal. The guided journal is a great tool to help us get in the habit of reflection. Each time we can select one of the Seven Intentions to focus on, then follow the prompts in the journal, looking back on things that have happened during the day and how they affected me.
If you find yourself frazzled, tired, or stressed out, I strongly encourage you to make it a habit of taking time for yourself. If you take the time to Be Aware, Act, Reflect™, whether it’s by taking the Cerra™ journey, prayer, or meditation – or even all of the above, you will be more in-tune with what you spiritually and emotionally need.

SC Johnson was pushing Cerra, but I didn’t really look at the website. Sounds interesting…if I only had the time to make the time–sad, huh?
