Class is in session. Or at least it is for some and will be soon for others. Between picking up school supplies to shopping for new school clothes (because really, those dirty jeans that hang just above the ankels just won’t cut it for another year,) there’s lots to do. The Boys & Girls Club is hoping to make this year’s back to school a little more fun, a little more rewarding, and even a little more generous through various partnerships with Disney and jcpenney.
First, the Boys and Girls Club of America (BGCA) and Disney have launched the new Tools for Back to School initiative, where your school-bound kids can play a pop-quiz game that is not only fun, but helps donate school supplies to the BGCA. For every five correct answers, school supplies including folders, books, and pencil kits, up to 30,500 supplies will be donated to a Boys & Girls Club member. Head over and play the quiz and help a member head back to school with the supplies they need.
If you’ll be shopping for new clothes at jcpenny this season, you’ll have another chance to help support the BGCA through the jcp cares program. For the month of August, you’ll have the opportunity to “round up” your purchase, which means those extra pennies or dimes that you add on to you charge will be donated to the BGCA. Every cent helps so consider telling jcpenny to round up when you’re checking out.
If the thought of heading back to school makes you nervous – what if you forget this or you don’t do that – then the BGCA has got you covered there too. The BGCA has a handle list of tips and educational content that can help you and your kids head back to school stress-free. From Time Management Tips to suggests for the parent, you can find these great resources on the left side of the BGCA Back to School page (under the “Get Ready” section.)
With BGCA, not only can you help make your back to school season a little easier, but you can also help other kids’ back to school seasons be a little easier too.
