It’s not a secret that we’re a snacking household. I accept that we like snacks and will probably always like snacks. The challenge though, is when you accept that you’re a snacker AND when you’re trying to be healthy. We’re constantly trying new snacks as we search for a snack that is both a healthier snack alternative while still satisfying those snack cravings.
We found just that type of snack with Harvest Snaps – a crunchy, tasty snack that is made from peas or whole lentils and has less fat, more fiber, and lower sodium than regular potato chips. Harvest Snaps are available in 6 delicious flavors:
- Snapea Crisps – Lightly Salted, Caesar, Black Pepper, Wasabi Ranch
- Lentil Snaps – Tomato Basil, Onion Thyme
We’ve tried a few of the Harvest Snaps snack products so far, and the thing that’s stood out the most for me was that each variety had tons of flavor. Like, a LOT of flavor. With a name like Wasabi Ranch, you’d better deliver on flavor and these Snapea Crisps totally do. I don’t know how, but they’ve perfectly captured the heat and flavor of wasabi, and then mute down the heat with a ranch flavor. I’m not even a huge wasabi fan, but I kept eating “just one more” of the Wasabi Ranch Snapea Crisps.
The Onion Thyme Lentil Snaps are completely savory and remind me of a well cooked chicken meal. (Weird, I know, for a snack, but totally spot on when you want a snack that satisfies a hunger.) Even with the flavor punch, it still feels healthier eating Harvest Snaps. They are baked, not fried, so I didn’t feel heavy or weighed down after snacking.
I love that Harvest Snaps are a convenient snack. You can quickly throw them into a baggie or eat them right out of the bag (which is how we enjoyed them.)
As a fun twist, you can mix-up the different Harvest Snaps snacks and put them in a small cup for some “gourmet” kid-friendly snacking.
