Family game nights are a great way to spend quality time together, turn off the digital devices, and just have some old-fashioned fun. Combine it with family gatherings at Christmas and other holidays, and it’s time to add a new game to the mix which is family-friendly, fun to play, has some healthy competition, and will entertain everyone: Utter Nonsense! fits the bill.
Utter Nonsense! is a participation card game which uses “accents” to enhance playing the rounds, is great for a crowd of 4-20 players, you can play in as little as 30 minutes for the first winner of 5 rounds, it’s perfect for kids as young as 8, and it’s made in the USA!
We decided to play a few games on Sunday to have some fun while some family members were visiting. The directions were easy and similar to other fill-in-the-blank card-based games, but this one has the fun twist of using accents while reading silly phrases. Pick the Nonsense Judge, deal the cards, select an Accent card, and the game is on! The game contains 50 Accent Cards and 450 Phrase Cards which players combine and act out for hours of fun.
You’ll be laughing and having a great time picking the best phrase to go with the green accent card for your turn. The judge picks the best phrase and accent combination to find the winner of the round, the first player to win five round wins the game. Not sure of an accent—just make it up or think of someone famous. That’s half the fun.
And, for holiday fun, there’s an Utter Nonsense! Holiday Pack expansion set available with holiday-related Accent cards in red and phrase cards for all of the December holidays. We had a great time playing with the expansion set.
The humor is great for all ages, the accents make the game hilarious, and Utter Nonsense! gives lighthearted pleasure for everyone. This is a game you’ll be pulling off the game shelf time and time again.
