Keep Track of Recalls with Recalls Plus #RecallsPlus

These days it seems like we can’t go a week without hearing about a new food scare or a warning about some product. Whether it’s something as serious as chemicals in food or something seemingly small, such as a small piece that can break off a child’s toy, it’s important to know what products and foods have had recalls – not only for knowledge but also to protect your children.

But who has time to scour all the reports and who wants to wait until it makes the news (if it even makes it there at all) before knowing about a recall? Fortunately, a new app developed by SAP, allows parents the monitor and track recalls on all of their children’s products and foods. This app is called Recalls Plus.

Available on Facebook, or as a free app download for the iPhone and Android phones, Recalls Plus allows you to create Personal Watch Lists of the products that are used the most in your home. Once you download the app, it is very easy to use. First, you set-up your account, or login using Facebook or Twitter. Once logged in, you can check the latest recall news, view your inbox, and add/manage your own personal watch list. You can add items to your watch list by searching through pre-set products, sorted by age (baby, infant, toddler) or by searching manually for specific products that you use. Once the products have been added, you will be notified if there are any relevant recalls for those product. You can also add specific allergens to your watchlist to be notified of any allergen warnings.

I found Recalls Plus to be very easy and intuitive to use. Adding products to the watch list just took a few moments, and it even tracks some of the purchase information for the product. Recalls Plus is a great app that can help parents monitor recalls for products used in the home.
