Sometimes I’m pretty boggled by all of the things you can use tortillas for. Of course there is the traditional tacos and burritos. But what about cinnamon sugar chips? Or tortilla pizza? Or even peanut butter & jelly tortillas? Tortillas can be very versatile. But of course, we want to make sure we’re still eating healthy. That’s why La Tortilla Factory’s high fiber, low-calorie tortillas and wraps are a great tortilla option.

The Review
There are two things that are very important to me when it comes to tortillas. Texture and taste. You don’t want a dry and crumbly tortilla. A good tortilla is malleable into almost any shape and can wrap around a big glop of seasoned beef without tearing. A good tortilla will also taste fresh, without any graininess or staleness. La Tortilla Factory’s Smart & Delicious Tortillas and Soft Wraps meet those requirements, and some.
Not only are the Smart & Delicious La Tortilla Factory Tortillas tasty and fresh, but they are just 100 calories, are packed with fiber (8g per serving) and are 98% fat free. In addition, they have Omega-3s from milled flax seed and provide 20% of your DRV of calcium. Talk about a healthy tortilla. And these aren’t you rinky dinky little tortillas, either. These are full-size, 8-9″ tortillas. The 100% Whole Wheat tortillas also have 20g of whole grains. How they were able to do all of that in 100 calories is beyond me.
If you’re a big wrap eater, then you’ll want to check out the Smart & Delicious La Tortilla Factory Extra Virgin Oil SoftWraps. As the name suggests, these are made with EVOO and are also a great source of fiber, providing you with 13g of fiber per wrap. These soft wraps come in 7 different varieties, including Traditional EVOO, MultiGrain, Whole Grain, Rye, Rosemary, and the tasty Tomato Basil.
So now that we’ve established their health benefits, let’s talk about taste. Simply put? GOOD. I used the Smart & Delicious 100 Calorie Traditional Tortillas to make chicken tacos. Since they were full-sized tortillas, I was able to make one large taco – I guess you could say burrito-style. The tortilla had a great tortilla-y flavor (meaning, it didn’t taste at all like a low-cal food) and had a nice thickness to it. After one tacurrito (my new made up word of tacos pretending to be burritos), I was full. That fullness is probably a happy side-effect to all of the fiber in the tortilla.
Next, I used the Smart & Delicious SoftWrap in Tomato Basil flavor to make chicken and bean wraps. (I know that sounds weird, but I was desperate and was raiding the pantry.) What I thought was great about these wraps was that extra oomph of flavor that they provided to the wrap. It was a great herby taste with a subtle tomato flavor.
If you’re a big tortilla or wrap fan, and want to make sure you’re getting your fiber without extra calories, then Smart & Delicious La Tortilla Factory Tortillas and SoftWraps are a great option. La Tortilla Factory is currently available in retail stores nationwide.

I would like their natural corn tortillas. Or I wouldn’t mind trying their Smart & Delicious Rosemary.

Sounds like the kind of food I need when I want to make something nutritious in a hurry. Do you really mean it when you say, I feel full? I would like to feel that when I eat great foods. Thank you for the review it helped me and many others I know.
I visited La Tortilla Factory and was very impressed, seriously impressed. I have the link on file and crossing my fingers that I will be able to get it at Costco or even Walmart (the only 2 stores retailers in Quebec) I found a few recipes I never tried and want to eat right now, lol
