I still remember the combination to my very first Master Lock. I do not remember the combination of any other locks after the first, though. I remember always getting excited when one of my new locks had a repeat number. You know, something like 17-22-17. I felt like it was just easier knowing that I only had to remember two numbers instead of three.
Never Worry About Forgetting Your Combination
With their new dialSpeed Electronic Padlock, Master Lock has made it even easier for both kids and adults to always remember the combination to their lock. First, forget that old-fashioned dial that spins right two turns, left, then right again. Now, there’s a new digital interface with four easy buttons – up, down, left right. Instead of a bunch of numbers, now the lock has groupings of letters and numbers. Finally, while there is a pre-set unlock code, you can create and set your own combination for this amazing new lock.
When I first looked at the lock, I was amazed at how sleek it was. The box touted that you could open the lock without looking, and at first, I didn’t know how that was even possible. After entering the code for the first time, I realized that by having directional buttons, you really don’t need to look. You just hit up, down, left, or right in the proper order. You don’t need to spin dials this way or that way. With each directional tap, a blue arrow will shine and when you’ve finished the combination, hit the middle light (which will turn green,) then all the lights will turn green (so you know it’s open,) and “click!” open lock!
To ensure you don’t forget the “combination,” you can set it to be a number, word, or phrase. For example, if my combination was “Miriam”, then to open the lock, I would hit Right, Right, Down, Right, Up, Right. (Although I don’t suggest setting it to be your name for security reasons.) If you’re worried you might forget your combination, you are able to visit masterlockvault.com and unlock a Backup Master Code that you can use to open the lock again.
The cool features don’t stop there. The Master Lock dialSpeed Electronic Combination Lock also has a guest feature. If you’ll be out of town or you need someone to access your locked item, you can create a separate guest code (up to three guest codes) that will unlock the lock. Once that is set, both your Primary code and the guest code will work. When it’s no longer needed, simply delete the guest code. That way you never need to give out your personal code to the lock.
I have never had a combination lock that was so easy to use. Being able to set the combination of the lock to one you know you’ll remember eases any potential worries of forgetting. Plus, there’s always the option of snagging your Backup Master Code online if you do happen to forget. I think my favorite part is definitely the directional buttons since it taps into my old video-gaming days.
With the kids headed off toe school, the Master Lock dialSpeed Electronic Combination Lock is a great option for keeping lockers secure. You can find this amazing new lock in a store near you. You can also purchase the Master Lock dialSpeed Electronic Combination Lock online from Amazon for just $9.40. It comes in a variety of colors, including blue, red, white, and black.

I would be a bit nervous about malfunction, but otherwise a neat idea.
This is a great idea, and will kep our treasures safer than the past
Funny that I just noticed this post about locks. We had quite the fiasco trying to find one for my son’s locker…He did choose a Master Lock but one that resembled the back pack locks. I told him to carefully read the directions and then set his chosen combination. Next thing I know, out he comes frustrated that it would not open. I tried, my husband tried but, no luck. We ended up buying another lock. Perhaps I should have tried the one above instead. Who knew you could have this much trouble with a simple combination lock? 😉
This is perfect for my step son…he forgets a lot! ha ha
I love this how come they didn’t have this when I was in school. I’m going to get this for my little sister
I love this idea. I always had such a hard time remembering random numbers. Between passwords, pins, ect, I don’t need anymore #’s!
