One of the things that’s getting harder and harder these days is to entertain the kids without a video game, television, or some other electronic device. So many times, I recall the days of yore when a box of crayons was enough. Fortunately, there’s a great option for parents who want to provide fun and entertaining activities for kids – Kiwi Crate.
Kiwi Crate is a monthly subscription box the delivers everything your child will need to complete 2-3 creative projects every month. And when I say everything, I mean everything. We recently got our first Kiwi Crate box, and there were two projects inside.
How It Works
If you aren’t familiar with subscription boxes, this concept might remind you of “of the Month” clubs. They’re actually pretty similar in that you get a monthly delivery. The difference is the surprise. For most subscription boxes, you don’t know what is in your monthly box. It will typically follow a theme, but what’s inside is an adventure of discovery. (Can you tell I like subscription boxes? LOL.)
What’s In Our Kiwi Crate
Our Kiwi Crate arrived via mail and it was exciting to open the mailbox and see the box inside.
We didn’t know what the theme of this month’s box was, so we had to open it. Our Kiwi Crate’s theme was Modern Art.
Inside our Kiwi Crate were ALL the materials we needed for two interactive projects. The Kiwi Crate projects and activities are designed for kids 3-7, although they say the activities may also be suitable for kids up to 9 years.
Our two projects were a My Color Block Painting Kit…
And a My Hanging Mobile Kit.
We decided to make the Hanging Mobile first. The instruction booklet has a guide that shows the messiness level (low), grownup involvement (medium) and the activities the child will be using in creating their mobile (creating, moving – fine, discovering). The kit included the hanger for the mobile, foam shapes, buttons, pipe cleaners, yarn, and treasure shapes.
We cleared a space on the table and went to work. Quiet time. It was nice. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, and the different colors and shapes were a lot of fun. We really got to be creative when assembling the mobile and it resulted in a beautiful mobile that we could hang in the window.
Isn’t it lovely? If you’d like to give your child a fun activity box every month, definitely consider Kiwi Crate. They even have special holiday crates available so you can do Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, and Christmas activities with the kids! You can use code SAVE5 to save $5 off any of their Holiday Crates!
