I’m no stranger to frozen pizza. It’s been with me through college and is even now, a staple in my freezer. I love the convenience of being able to throw a pizza in the oven and enjoy a tasty pizza in a few minutes. Over the years, I’ve tried a few varieties and definitely have a developed my go-to favorites when it comes to frozen pizza.
Not all frozen pizzas are created equal. There are some that are just bland and lack flavor. Others have lots of toppings but little sauce. Some just don’t seem to crisp up and get that true “pizza crust” crust. On our latest trip to Walmart, we picked up the new pizzeria! from DiGiorno, courtesy of SheSpeaks and DiGiorno.
Pizzeria! from DiGiorno is different than other frozen pizzas. It doesn’t have any artificial flavors and the crust is preservative-free. Pizzeria! from DiGiorono promises to give “the flavor and texture of true pizzeria-style pizza fresh baked right in your own oven.” We would see about that when we got home. But before then, we needed to decide which pizzeria! pizzas to get. There are four tasty varieties of DiGiorno pizzeria! pizza:
- Quattro Formaggi/Four Cheese
- Supreme Speciale
- Primo Pepperoni
- Italian Meat Trio
Walmart was completely sold out of Italian Meat Trio, so we picked up the other three pizzas. These would be perfect for our “TV night.” Once home, I immediately began preheating the oven. As I opened the pizza packages, I immediately noticed that the ingredients appeared high quality – the pepperoni slices weren’t thin as paper, but legitimate pieces of pepperoni. The amount of cheese was generous without being too much. I put a pizzeria! Primo Pepperoni and a pizzeria! Quattro Formaggi in the oven and waited.
Within a few minutes, the kitchen was already starting to smell like freshly baking pizza. We were getting hungrier by the minute. Finally, *beep, beep, beep*, the timer went off and it was time to enjoy the new pizzeria! from DiGiorno.
After we sliced the pizza, we grabbed our plates and settled in to watch some Falling Skies. We hadn’t reached the opening title screen when I turned to Gil and said, “Wow, this pizza is amazing!” I took another bite. “This actually tastes like it was baked in a pizzeria!” The crust was thick but had a nice crisp on the bottom, while soft on the top. The sauce, made with vine-ripened tomatoes, garlic and herbs, tasted gourmet.
The sauce, the crust, the toppings – each had their own distinct flavor while still being perfectly balanced with the other flavors. Both the pizzeria! Primo Pepperoni and the pizzeria! Quattro Formaggi/Four Cheese pizza we tried were delicious. The pizzas tasted fresh, and even tasted better to me than some delivery pizzas I’ve had. Without a doubt, pizzeria! from DiGiorno is my new frozen pizzas of choice.
If you would like to try the new DiGiorno pizzeria! pizza (which I encourage you to do) you can find it in the freezer section of your local Walmart or grocery store. Make sure you download this coupon to save $2 off the new DiGiorno pizzeria! pizza. Enjoy!

definitely need to check it out, it looks really good for frozen pizza!
yum
this would be great to stock up on when you have nice coupons like this, and then have a teen pizza party or any other get together that would cost a small fortune to get pizza at the pizza shop! and so many nice choices!
Thanks for the review and coupon! I usually don’t care for freezer section pizzas, because of the quality, mainly because of the artificial flavors and that the crust is usually so full of chemicals that it ruins the flavor of the pizza. When you wrote that the DiGiorno has no artificial flavors and the crust is preservative-free, I was happy to hear it. Can’t wait to try it!
