Review:
I’ve just finished this dinner and I’m honestly a little undecided about the dish. The sauce SMELLS delicious. I know there’s cheese, garlic, and some other stuff in there. The problem is that the sauce doesn’t taste as good as it smells. It’s a little ‘blander’ than it smells – which could be good or bad, depending on what you’re looking for in an alfredo sauce. On the other hand, along with the lighter flavor, the meal doesn’t feel heavy. It leaves your mouth feeling light, not coated with fat. But then on the other, other hand, for a meal that’s 650 calories (when you include the bread) – maybe I want it to feel heavy and packed with flavor. Speaking of bread, it tastes like sourdough bread with a hint of cheesy-ness. It baked up perfectly and had a crispy crust and soft interior.
UPDATE: I had the left overs the following night and the meal heated up fine in the microwave – just don’t forget the wet paper towel trick.
Tips:
This meal only came as a 6-serving pre-assembled meal. To prevent myself from having to eat a week and a half of the same meal, I manually split this meal in two. Half a box of the pasta, sliced the loaf in half, and split the alfredo sauce. All of the cooking times remain the same as the original instructions.
