Do you know one thing that is contagious that I wish more people would catch? A smile. Have you ever noticed that when you smile at someone 99.9999% of the time, they’ll smile back at you. And did you notice, that once you start smiling, the rest of your day just feels better? Smiling leads to happiness. So imagine how good you’d feel if you went to grab a quick bite to eat and saw this:
Admit it – you just smiled, didn’t you? And you know what’s even better? This happy face is a cookie!

The Review
Excited is an understatement for how I felt receiving my cookies from SmileyCookie.com. I’ve been noticing these cookies on some other blogs and knew that they just look like happy cookies. I mean…they’re smiling!
Smiley Cookies are delivered fresh to your door and when I opened my box of 12, they were still surprisingly soft as if they had just come out of the oven that morning. The icing was soft as well – the telltale sign of a fresh cookie. Even though the cookies were fresh, Smiley Cookie recommended that I heat my cookie up for about 10 seconds in the microwave. I really enjoyed eating the heated cookies – you could almost smell the baked cookie fragrance as it was heating.
It’s also worth noting that all of the cookies arrived in one piece – not a single cookie was broken! If you aren’t feeling up to eating 12 cookies right away, then you can also freeze your Smiley Cookies and heat them up later.
At first I thought it would be hard to eat a cookie that was smiling at me, but then I reminded myself, “This is a cookie” and I quickly resolved to eat the happy face. I settled down with my heated cookie and began to munch away. How do you eat a cookie that’s smiling at you? I simply nibble around the edges first, keeping the smile as long as possible. Then I take out the eyes, so no one will watch me finish the rest – haha!
When it comes to taste, picture a cookie that is a cross between a sugar cookie and shortbread. The texture is soft and thick, with a subtle sweetness. The cookies are hand-iced and the icing is applied in a thin layer – not too thick but just enough to provide an extra hint of sweetness. This cookie would please both the young and the old cookie monsters out there.
Smiley Cookie is a great option for gift giving. In addition to being tasty, you can select from one of their many gift baskets or smiley mixes, which start as low as $13.99. If you’re feeling creative or you want to add a special touch to your cookie mix, you can also create your own cookie, where you can select from one of the five cookie shapes (Original Smiley, Mini Smiley, Flower Smiley, Heart Smiley, and Star Smiley), choose your base icing color, and then choose the color of your smiley face. There are 12 different icing colors available which allows for 780 Smiley Cookie combinations (if I did my math right.) Custom cookies start at just $12.99/dozen.
For an endearing, tasty gift that will be sure to make people smile, check out the many Smiley Cookie options available on smileycookie.com.

🙂
BTW, the softness of icing can also depend on the type of icing made–some are made to dry hard and don’t usually have a fat (butter, cream cheese, shortening) in them
I did not know that! The only time I tried to make icing, it came out really gross. Drippy and kind of grainy. Blech!
my mom had a cake decorating business out of her kitchen…we got to eat the leftovers…I hate yellow cake as a result
you should be able to make great icing with the new mixer–you can stiffen the icing with some cream of tartar (which is, ironically, a powder)
Wow. Growing up eating cake must’ve been rough. 🙂
I’m definitely going to use the new mixer for icing next time I have the courage to try it. 🙂
BTW, how do you like the new comment notification email thing?
It was unexpected–in a good way. I like it. There are some websites where I wouldn’t like it, but I’ve probably unsubscribed to them anyway.
My friends sure liked coming to my house for cake and icing leftovers. I did learn how to make red velvet cake before it was hot and popular–1984! I have to make it for DH’s b-day in a couple of days.
Here from a blog hop and happy to meet you,
