Since I’ve started cooking and baking more, I’ve found myself needing to shop for more ingredients and a wider variety of ingredients. For example – lemon curd. That’s not something I would have ever added to a shopping list until I stumbled across a recipe for mock lemon meringue bars (which were amazing.) When the list started growing, I became more and more appreciative of the local Walmart Super Center.
In the past, I’ve had to go to multiple grocery stores, mostly because not all the stores had the variety of products I need all in one spot. With the local Walmart Super Center, everything I need to bake up delicious recipes is on the shelves and ready for me to turn into a meal. Because of this, Walmart is my go-to-store when it comes to grocery shopping. That includes picking up Country Crock spread for my next baking adventure.
I’ll be honest that I’ve not tried or cooked with Country Crock spread before. The numbers are tempting for sure – 70% less saturated fat and 30% fewer calories than butter. I’ve heard that the flavor is spot on as well. But my question is – how is it for cooking?
That’s the question I’ll be answer in the upcoming weeks as I pick up some Country Crock spread at Walmart and will use it to bake up something delicious. There are a few different recipes I’m thinking about trying out with Country Crock spread – corn bread, cheesecake, or maybe even something tasty to go with corn on the cob.
If you’re interested in testing out Country Crock spreads or I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter! when you cook up your next meal, head over to www.itisgoodtoknow.com to find tasty recipes and learn the facts about these spreads.
Cooking your favorite recipes using Unilever buttery spreads is a deliciously smart move. With 0g trans fats per serving, less saturated fat and fewer calories than butter, cholesterol-free spreads are a better option.

I use country crock when I cook all the time. I’ve never tried to bake with it.
We use Country Crock but I have never even thought of it for cooking. I will check out the recipes for sure.
I will have to check out the recipes since I do like Country Crock. Thanks so much for the link 🙂
I have never cooked with Country Crock either, I am interested to know how your dishes come out, please keep us posted.
Country crock is the best, i use it all the time
Country Crock is the only margarine we EVER use! It works very well for recipes that specifically call for margarine.
I use country crock all the time! I like it for cooking!
I have never made recipes with Country Crock, but I like this spread on my bread, rolls and potatoes because it gives my food a great taste.
I use to use Country Crock a lot when I found it at my local store in a squeeze bottle. Now all I find is the plastic bowl and our family never uses the plastic bowl. Its either the squeeze bottle or the sticks of butter its just easier to me to use for cooking/baking and serving. Wish I could find it in the bottle again
Be interesting to see how it does in ur cooking. We r the butertons when it comes to cookin. If it did ok it sure would healthier!
I try to use real butter mostly, but truthfully, it’s just pricey with four kids to have them gobble down real butter constantly. We use CC ALL the time for things like mashed potatoes, on veggies, etc. So delish
I’ve used the spread and never tried cooking with spreads, but now I’m tempted. I’ll have to check out some of those recipes!
We’ve used Country Crock for decades. I don’t know if we’ve ever used it for anything besides as a spread, but I’m going to have to dig around on the website and find those recipes like you mentioned. It does taste and resemble real butter to a very strong degree, so I’m very open to making a baked dish using Country Crock. Thanks for the website!
