I’ve been using a pocket point and shoot for a few months now and have found it well worth it. It is small and portable, meaning I can throw it into a purse or into a pocket for everyday picture-taking use. What I have neglected to do up until this point is to get a decent camera case for it. When looking for a camera-case, I want something that is practical. For small cameras you obviously want a small bag (otherwise you’re defeating the point of even having a small camera.) And what would make the case even better is if it came in a color other than black, kind of black, or mostly black. WaterField Designs Camera Cases meet and exceed my criteria for camera cases.

The Review
The WaterField Designs Blue Indium Camera Case is unlike any camera case I’ve ever seen. It’s made of a durable nylon that feels thick and sturdy. (FYI, the ballistic nylon it is made of is the same material used in flak jackets that WWII airmen wore. Basically, it’s seriously tough nylon.) As an added bonus, the case is water-resistant, so I don’t need to freak out about finding a plastic bag if it starts to rain.
The case itself has a generous amount of padding (6 mm of shock-absorbing neoprene) inside while still keeping it’s thin shape. For example, my camera alone is just over 1″ wide. My camera in the WaterField Designs Camera Case is just about 1.5″ – keeping my camera’s convenient size. In addition, each side of the interior of the case has a padded pocket which is about the length of the case and is perfect for storing memory cards or back-up batteries. The self-locking zipper means that gravity or slight tugs at the zipper won’t cause the camera to fall out of its case.
If you don’t want to keep the case in your purse or in a bag, you can also attach it to your jeans or to the outside of a backpack using the included carabiner. Or if you are travelling overseas, attach the carabiner to the inside of your purse or bag to help prevent it from being stolen.
Before I received the camera case, I wasn’t sure I really needed one. But now that my camera is snug in its new WaterField Designs camera case, I realize the peace of mind it can provide to know that my camera won’t get dinged, nicked or scratched.
WaterField Designs camera cases come in five different colors (pictured above) – Blue Indium, Lead Indium, Taxi Indium, Black Leather and Orange leather. Their sizes range from Aperture size (2″ x 3.5″ x 1″) to Saturation size (3″ x 4.5″ x 2″). They are currently available for sale on line for $29 for Indium cases and $33 for Leather cases. The quality material and the protection that the case provides makes it well worth the price.
High quality camera protection in a unique and classy design isn’t something you can find everyday, but it is something that WaterField Designs excels at.

Very nice! Always good to protect the camera rather than having it loose in a pocket or purse where it could become damaged.
Strapped thong sandals are more vertically inclined and are relatively less strappy. With only two front straps shaped like a V, or just one front strap shaped like a T, these sandals actually make you look taller as it shows more of your skin.
I like the “neoprene, which has excellent shock-absorbing qualities” 🙂
I love that it isn’t bulky!
