You know what scene I often see during the Christmas season? People riding their horse-drawn sleigh in the middle of a gentle snowfall to cut down their Christmas tree, with big smiles and laughter emanating. Well, out here, there are no sleighs or horses to be seen. The last snow I saw was in early October, and I don’t even own an axe. It was just a few years ago that I started having my own Christmas tree, and I’ve loved the smell that fresh pine brings to the home.
Last year, we waited what could be considered “a bit” too long and finally got our tree up somewhere around December 22nd. What can I say – things got super busy and when it came to the shopping list “Xmas tree” just kept moving down.
As of Wednesday afternoon, I could officially cross the Christmas tree off my list thanks to the amazing live Christmas tree delivery by Sears. If you didn’t know, and what up until a couple of weeks ago, I didn’t know, is that the Sears Holiday Shop offers shoppers the opportunity to purchase live Christmas trees (in addition to fresh wreaths and garlands) from the Sears website and you can have them shipped directly to your door.
Celebrate the warmth and charm of the holiday season in with a Fresh-Cut, Premium Grade, Fraser Fir Christmas Tree from The Christmas Tree Company. Our Christmas trees are a fresh, fragrant seasons delight! With luscious blue-green branches that are sturdy enough to support a wide range of decorations, our North Carolina Fraser Fir is an excellent choice.
There are 5 different sizes of live trees on sale at the Sears Holiday Shop from The Christmas Tree Company, ranging from 4.5ft to 9ft. While the 9ft. tree was super tempting, I decided to purchase a 6.5-7ft Christmas tree, which is normally priced at $119.99 but was on sale (and still is at the moment) for $113.99 plus free shipping.
I ordered my Christmas tree on Friday, November 25th; it shipped on Tuesday, November 29th and it arrived at my door around 7PM on Wednesday November 30th. As I type this post, it is sitting in the box (yes, a Christmas tree in a box…a 6.5ft to 7ft Christmas tree in a box at that,) waiting to be un-boxed and lovingly placed in the Christmas tree stand, which I have already pulled out of storage.
Thanks to Sears and the live Christmas tree delivery, I’ll be able to start putting presents under the tree in no time at all!
Stay tuned for part two of our Christmas tree’s journey, when we discover how a 7ft Christmas tree actually fits in a box, what it looks like out of the box, and see how it looks after it’s decorated and carefully guarding presents!

I just love that you don’t have to tie it to the roof of your car!
