Growing up, I had chores – folding laundry, washing dishes, picking snails. (Hey…I got a penny per snail!) Chores are valuable tasks that can help children learn responsibility and the value of hard work. Unfortunately, with so many new distractions, such as video games, Facebook, and texting friends, sometimes chores get thrown to the wayside as do the lessons that are so important to learn. What’s a parent to do? Enter My Job Chart.
My Job Chart is an innovative site that enables parents to create chore charts online and reward their kids when the chores are completed. Children are able to log-in to their own account and track their rewards. You and your children can sit down and select appropriate rewards for your family, then as the kids complete their chores, they can track their progress on the job chart. They can choose to save, share, or spend their rewards, helping them to learn both charitable and financial responsibility.
By creating this interactive rewards program that taps into the “technology” and “cool” things that kids like, My Job Chart can help your children learn the important lessons that we all learn when scrubbing dried lasagna off plates….sometimes things can get sticky, sometimes things can be hard to deal with, but if we keep working at it (and with a little bit of elbow grease) everything will come out right in the end. 🙂

I wish I could say I would use it, but I wouldn’t; I tell them what I want done and they usually do it with grumbles.
